Review: Barry M Nail Art Pens

I’ve seen so many other reviews of these Barry M Nail Art Pens that have been raving about them, so this week I caved and bought them! Superdrug had an offer of 3 for 2 on Barry M nail polish, so on my lunch break I bought the black, white and silver pens. After I had had a play around with them I popped back into Superdrug that evening to buy the pink one too! What can I say, I am a sucker for full sets!

The first thing I noticed was how easy they are to use.

On first use, you need to give the pen a good shake, then remove the lid and press the nib down on a bit of paper about 20 or so time to get the polish to come down the nib. I found that when you start to see the polish, put the lid back on and give it a good shake, and you’ll be ready to go!

They’re so much easier to use than a normal polish and paintbrush! My problem was coming up with enough designs and patterns to do! The possibilities are literally endless. They’re also easier to use than the pens that you have to squeeze – I could get so much more accurate and less shaky lines. Plus, you don’t end up with not enough polish or massive blobs – just a constant about of polish on the nib!

All four coloured pens are a great opaque colour – even the pale pink showed up straight over a black polish without needing to trace over my design again. And the polish from them comes off very easily with normal nail polish remover which is good.

For each of these manicures I painted one or two coats of the nail polish (beige, blue, red or black) before adding a quick drying top coat to make it dry faster. Once it was completely dry, I used the pens to draw the designs onto my nails. Each whole manicure took less than ten minutes and it’s such a great effect!

I would really recommend these nail art pens to anyone. I just know that they’re going to make my nail art so much easier!

I put a plee out to Barry M – please make a whole rainbow of colours of the pens! I would buy ALL OF THEM.
