Nail Art – Love-birds With Sweet-Tooths

So today I have something sweet and feathery for you. Or diabetic, literally for the birds and metaphorically for the cynics, depending on how you look at it.

Love-birds with sweet-tooths and a pair of sweethearts on my ring finger!

Polishes used:

Kleancolor “Pastel Teal”, Kleancolor “Pastel Pink”, China Glaze “Leather Black”, Revlon “Valentine”, Seche Vite topcoat

I seem to be stuck using my drugstore polishes lately. Money has been tight so it’s put me in an thriftful mindset!

I first used three coats of “pastel teal” on my index, middle and pinkie. On my ring I used two coats of “pastel pink”, followed by painting a heart with the same teal. Since Kleancolor polishes dry a little slow for my liking (I’m all about speed!) I then topped it off these bases with a coat of Seche Vite fast dry topcoat. After drying, “Leather Black” was used along with the the MLS 301 plate to stamp swallows in various opposing positions. I then took “Valentine” and stamped them carrying little wrapped candies.

Initially I took great care in placing red polish in the center of the candy stamp, with white on the wrapper portion, to make them look more realistic and a bit more detailed. This worked easily and would probably look awesome against a dark color, however the white wrapper portion barely showed up against the teal. So I had to do it all over! But it’s a good idea for another time…

Hold the phone.

What’s that chicken doing here? Peeping on birds and trying to steal their candy?!

That’s no chicken. That’s a rooster, and his name is “techno-chicken”. He’s a ring I picked up from one of my absolute favorite ring shops and will be included in the next *scheduled* monthly giveaway!!

Stay tuned!
