Flamingos

While trying to decide what to decorate my nails with for this theme, I scoured my stamping plates and thought about hand painting like birds in a cage, but when I started thinking about the more obscure birds and finally it was down to either flamingos or penguins!

Flamingos it was!

I’ve seen these style of flamingo nails on a few blogs before, but I just couldn’t help recreating them myself!

I started by painting my nails with three coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella (a review to follow later in the week) which is a gorgeous pale blue with a pink shimmer to it. I then used a small paintbrush to paint on the head, neck and body of the flamingos using Barry M Bright Pink. Next I used the same small paintbrush and Angelica Marshmallow to paint the wing of the flamingos. I used a tiny paintbrush and Barry M Matt White to paint the white bit of the beak and then the same white polish with a medium sized dotting tool to create the whites of the eyes. Finally I used Nails Inc Black Taxi with a small dotting tool to finish the eyes, and the same black polish with a tiny paintbrush to paint the beak.

What do you think? I love these guys!

I can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with for birds this week!
