Christmas Nail Tutorial – Star

And now for the nail art design I had planned for today! Doesn’t this advent calendar look so pretty now that it’s nearly complete?! I can’t wait to show you what it looks like all finished tomorrow.

This afternoon’s nail art design is a great big star in the deep blue sky!

The bible says that a star directed the wise men to where Jesus was after he had been born so that they could worship him.

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. – Matthew 2 v 9-10

Here’s how to achieve this Christmas Star Manicure

Step 1

Start by painting your nail all over in a pale blue colour. Wait for this to try completely before moving onto the next step.

Step 2

Take a make up sponge and cut it down to just a bit larger than the size of your nail. Then paint stripes on it in three shades of blue polish – light, medium and dark. Make sure there is plenty of polish on the sponge, then pat it repeatedly on your nail until the colours blend together to give a gradient.

Step 3

Use a paintbrush dipped in acetone or nail polish remover to clean up around the edges of your nail. Then take a small paintbrush and a gold polish and paint a traditional eight-point star.

The final look of the star manicure!
