Birthday Cupcake Mani

For those of you who are celebrating their birthdays today, this post is for you.

Nubar Indigo Illusion

I started off with two coats of Nubar Indigo Illusion.

It’s a fantastic multi-chrome that shifts from purple to green to shimmery grey just like the ILNP – Chrome which is also my favorite.

The formula is a dream! Amazing smooth application, and a really nice finish.

I wanted something semi-festive so I tried mimicking this clothes’ pattern

Nail Design stamping plate

I grabbed my Konad Special Black Pearl, and Cheeky plate CH26, and stamped the image down the sides of my nails. (Sorry about the slightly blurry pic here. I had already moved on to the next step on my left hand, but forgot to take the first picture. Apparently I can paint with my left hand, I just can’t take good pics with it!

I used Konad Special White with the same image, and stamped over the original one, just in a slightly different spot.

To create the cupcake, I first painted the lower half of my nail with one coat of Zoya Tru. I used my striping brush with Milani Orchidia to create the cupcake wrapper lines.

Next, I painted a triangular section on the upper half with OPI Alpine Snow Matte. (I chose the matte because of it’s thicker formula. I really wanted the frosting to puff out a bit from the rest of my nail!!!) I used my dotting tool with the Alpine Snow Matte around the frosting edges. After that, I added a coat of Confetti Ice Ice Baby for some fun frosting glitters.

I used my dotting tool again with Konad Special Red for the cherry, and with Milani Orchidia, Sally Hansen Mint Sprint, and Sally Hansen Brisk Blue to create the sprinkles! One final coat of SV, and my work was done!!!

So there you have it! My fun birthday mani, that still matches my outfit!! I had a lot of fun creating this one! I hope you enjoy it ladies!
